Blurb
Rule number 1 for the team owner’s daughter? Don’t date the players.
Especially not hotheaded tight ends with tattoos and impulse control problems.
That’s why Dominic Walker is completely off my radar. Sort of.
Babysitting the team troublemaker when he’s forced to volunteer for the foundation where I work means I can’t exactly avoid him.
I wish I had though. Because once I get to know Dominic, it’s almost impossible to ignore the feelings he brings out in me.
Pretty soon, I’m breaking all my rules. I just have to hope he doesn’t break my heart in the process.

Review
This might be my favorite grumpy/sunshine book in 2021. I’m so happy we get to return to the Washington Wolves with all of Karla Sorensen’s characters.
Dominic, a grumpy football player who was just traded back to him hometown of Seattle, gets into trouble on day one of his contract, mostly because he’s dealing with his own pains and trauma from his past, with a little bit of rescue-complex for the new rookie. He’s forced to volunteer from the Wolves’, which is how he meets Faith, daughter of the former QB and stepdaughter to the Owner… it’s a family affair, alright? (catch up on all these characters by starting at the beginning with The Bombshell Effect, available on KU)
While Dominic and Faith get familiarized, we are introduced to the sweetheart that is Faith. She volunteers at the zoo, she spends time with at-risk youth, and she more than once believes she doesn’t deserve the position she has within her family’s organization. She’s a helper; she puts everyone before herself, even complete strangers that she befriends on the internet… Both are hard workers trying to prove themselves to their loved ones and even for themselves, but at what cost to their own happiness and dreams?
Dominic’s first impression of Faith is all wrong, and it’s such a beautiful story to watch unfold, both as Dominic lets his guard down and as Faith stands up for herself. As Dominic sweetly tries to woo Faith, we discover that not all first impressions are correct. Can these two give each other a second chance, even with histories and one major lie standing between them? Read it to find out!

Meet Karla Sorensen:
Well, let’s see … I’m a wife and a mother. If the things that I write bring a smile to someone’s face, then I’ve done my job. I am obsessed with Outlander (both the books and the show). I’m almost exclusively a romance reader, which means some people will never consider me a literary snob. If I could meet one historical figure, it would be Jane Austen. I received my Bachelors in Public Relations and worked in health care marketing before I had my babies. I hate Twitter. I do it, but I hate it. Also, if you want to get on my good side, bring me wine and I’ll love you forever.
