Chloe Liese does it again! As far as authors go, Chloe has yet to disappoint me – she writes real characters who are flawed, human, and beautifully broken, which makes them easy to imagine they are my real friends and help me to see the world around me with a better understanding and more compassion. Jamie and Bea are two more Liese “friends” of mine, and I’m so glad I saved this book to be my first of 2023.
Other things I loved about this book:
– the cinnamon roll hero who falls hard and COMMITS (you’ll know this when he does something permanent)
– THEE CUTEST French nicknames James has for Bea
– talking with your partner about what you *need*
– a heroine who stands up for her man in unconventional ways (which I hope are one day just normal instead of “unconventional” but I digress)
– the cutest pets
– the different types of love: love for self, friendship, romantic, familial, and the love between sisters are all present and important in this story
– the unique characters that feel like real friends
This book gets ALL THE STARS from me. It’s swoony and funny and surprising and raw. I read it in one sitting, and I hope you pick it up to enjoy soon!

Question of the Day: Do you tab/annotate paperback books? What’s your method? Do you highlight ebooks? If not, what’s your favorite type of hero?
